Working fine so far, but rust starts to develop on the rim of the kettle

FYI have brought the products without reading the review and was worried about rusting. Truth enough after about 4 months of usage rust starts to form on the rim of the kettle. NB. Thought stainless steel should not rust!. Please see photo attached. Kindly advise how best to rectify this. Noted item still under warranty and not sure if you will offer an one-to-one exchange. Then also worry what if the replacement kettle also rusting after in use.
